Deep privacy no matter where your data is stored.
Founded in 2008 by James Robson, completelyprivatefiles.com's mission is to provide deep privacy for your online data.
As a first step towards this goal, we have built a framework that allows us to offer 'third party key holder encryption'. This means the we hold the encryption key, without having access to your data. This is important, because separating key and data is what makes the privacy so powerful.
The first offering built on top of the framework is an add-on service for Box.net that allows you to seamlessly encrypt and decrypt the files you store on Box.net using powerful, industry-strength encryption.
As a next step, we've published a RESTful API so that web service providers can easily deepen the privacy of their customer's data. The web became powerful because of its open architecture, ease-of-use, and simplicity. We want to extend that to privacy services. Deep privacy should be easy to implement.
We continue to grow and add sites, APIs, and services that provide deep privacy for all your online content, no matter where it lives.
Security, Privacy, & Reliability
From software design to database to platform, privacy, reliability, and security is built in to our service.
We take every step to ensure that the key that encrypts your data is accessible. We back up daily. We log the keys in multiple, geographically disperse regions. We also provide tools that allow you to decrypt your data even if you're not connected to the Internet.
Choice of platform is also very important. Our service is hosted by pair Networks, a world class network provider of long standing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They provide first level hosting services with five diverse backbone networks, 24x7x365 network monitoring, and network uptime in excess of 99.9%. Read the Security White Paper.
